EARTH TONES - 7 reasons to go for it!

Trying to decide the right wardrobe for your next photoshoot shouldn’t be a source of stress. If someone would draw a list of the most important points to consider before choosing your photo-palette and outfits, I am sure that the Earth Tones would be at the very top of the list as favorite suggestion.

The pastel colors are timeless. It evokes a calm and peaceful mood that is all the photoshoot needs to be about.

Here today I will not only show you how stunning the pastel shares are in our luxurious dresses, but I’m sure I will also convince you to create your own Earth Tone wardrobe filled with Mii-Estilo clothes.

You will see why a gorgeous, understated palette of neutral colors and solids creates a stunning collection.

If I have to go straightforward, I would say that the most important reason of why to go for the earth tones is because they work!

When all the photo’s subjects are wearing earth tones you don’t even have to think about matching anything because the neutrals will always come together in a polished and sophisticated way that never feels dated.

The Earth tones will definitely give your photos a fresh and romantic vibe since they are all universal flattering colors and will surely do the work not only for the mom-to-be, but also for the family members if they are accompanying the mom during the photoshoot.

The muted tones will make the work of an alluring black canvas to illustrate all the perfect details and personality of the subject.

Let’s dig deeper? Here are the 7 reasons you should just go for the earth tones!

1- EASY TO HARMONIZE

Most of you are maternity photographers, so the session are mostly with one subject - the mom - but sometimes you will have a partner together, or the older kids can also take a part -  or even a newborn photoshoot.

If that’s the case, we are talking about a few extra people during the photoshoot, and harmonizing all of their outfits can be challenging - at least. This can be extra challenging if you will try to match color hues than if you just decide to match only neutral colors. Earth tones bases are definitely the best.

2- EXTREMELY FLATTERING ON EVERYONE

I know that not all people look good in a few colors. Some might say that a white outfit will not match with their skin tone - but I do believe with all my heart that everyone can look good with earth tones.

Maybe you won’t look good in white, but you will do in grey. The neutral hue is so diverse and flattering - I am sure that some of them will look perfect on customers.

3- EARTH TONES AREN’T DISTRACTING

One of the most important reasons to go for the Earth Tones is that these colors won’t be distracting like the bright colors are.

The main focus of a photoshoot should be the subject - their face, baby bump, etc - and not what they are wearing. Of course the outfit and it’s beauty is relevant (very relevant), but I see them as a complement to the model. The best thing is to add some texture to the whole than to go for an extreme bright color that will steal the show.

Go for the Earth Tones and leave the details to accessories or the different fabrics that you can find at Mii-Estilo.

4- YOU CAN STILL ADD PERSONALITY

By choosing a neutral base you still have the chance to add your client’s (or your own) personality to the photo by adding a different abrasive color in the details.

See the details as jewelry or a photo prop - the neutrals will just match. Simple like that.

5- THEY GLOW. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHERE.

You can shoot in a studio or outside, doesn’t matter where, the earth tones will glow. One thing is for sure, it doesn’t matter the location you choose for your photoshoot, the subjects won’t need to compete if the beauty and details from the location if they are wearing earth tones.

The clothing choice will only add to the romantic feeling the images will bring.

6- EARTH TONES ARE TIMELESS

These shades create the most timeless of all color schemes, as they are all drawn from nature itself. Time can pass, style can change but these colors will always give you a high end look with a sense of freshness and elegance.

7- PERFECT FOR DISPLAY

Last but not least - Wearing earth tones in your photos means that no matter what your home decoration is, you can print your photos to display in any room. By going for the neutrals you don’t have to worry about your portraits not being harmonized with your decoration. (even if you change your decor for the seasons).
